How can I tell if a certain wide angle lens will fit a specific camcorder?

I’m just getting into filming and am looking to buy a camcorder. However, I want to use a wide angle lens while filming but can’t seem to figure out if certain lenses are compatible with the different camcorders I’m looking at. Could anyone let me know how I can find the right match of lens to camcorder? Thanks!
