Weight Tripod
What is the best tripod to use with a 5d Mark2 camera?
I will be doing some outdoor photography and moving around so I need something light weight and sturdy. I also want to be able to smoothly roll the camera around on top of the tripod. I am looking for quality. What do you recommend?
I’m not going to recommend a particular tripod as what’s good for you may be different to whats good for me. What I would do is write down a check list of what you need the tripod to do/be. Include such things as weight, height (and adjustability), head movement, speed of use, transportability.
I was going to suggest talking to a real person at your local photographic store, but thinking about this the guys in the big chains are pretty useless. If you are lucky enough to have a specialist enthusiast run photographic shop you could run this past them, I would advise if you do this you really should support them with your business too (sod the big chains pick their brains if they have any then buy online).
