Should I spend £300 on a tripod?

It DOES cost a whopping £300. On the other hand, it IS small and light.
Do I absolutely need it? Probably not.
Will I use it a lot? Probably not.
Will I get bored of it? Perhaps, eventually.
Do I really want it? Well I want a small and light tripod that fits into my hand luggage when I fly, and can hold a DSLR steady.
Does it fit with the price of the rest of my kit? I guess so.

I was going to go with the popular vote here, but I might have to pull a Jeremy Clarkson on this one. 
If it suits your requirements and you can afford it then why not.
