Why do dogs tilt their head back when they bark?
Every time dogs bark they tilt their heads back, Why do they do this?
That’s body language + necessity. The bark where the head kicks back is a warning bark, it’s not an aggressive bark. Kicking the head back let’s other dogs know that the dog doing the barking isn’t really a threat and is usually a weak nerved dog. Throwing the head back and barking into the air means the sound will travel further as well, which is just what a dog wants in a warning bark. An aggressive bark is eye level and direct.
