Telescope Lenses/Eyepieces?
Hi, does anyone know which make of telescope eyepieces/lenses that will get more power out of my reflector telescope? my other ones are so blurry, if you want to know the specs of my telescope:

There are a number of reasons that the view you have may be blurry. You could have a fine film of dew (water) on your mirror or eyepiece, depending upon the air conditions when you’re trying to view. You could have dirt or fingerprints on the eyepieces, secondary/diagonal mirrors, or the main mirror. The problem could also be the atmosphere – turbulence, high thin clouds, fogginess. Another problem can be a mirror that is not at the same temperature as the outside air. If you take a telescope from a 70 degree house out into 30 degree air, the mirror surface will change shape as it cools to the temperature of the surrounding air. While that is happening, you can get very blurry images. In addition, heat being lost from the mirror can heat the air in the telescope tube and cause a local turbulence that can make seeing blurry.
Assuming that your mirror and eyepieces are clean and temperature stabilized under a perfectly clear, steady atmosphere, any blurring at that point could be from poor or scratched surfaces on the mirror or eyepieces. If that’s the case, you’ll need to replace them.
You have a 6″ telescope. Ideally, you can use up to 100X per inch of diameter on your objective. Since the atmosphere is usually too turbulent to allow that, you shouldn’t go over 300X for your viewing. With a 1400mm focal length, you can use eyepieces with focal lengths of 6mm or more (6mm will get you about 230X, 10mm = 140X, 20mm = 70X, 25mm=56X).
Eyepieces come in a whole range of types and prices. The “tubes” of the eyepieces come in three standard sizes (.960 inches, 1.25 inches and 2 inches). Depending upon your telescope, you may have a large number of choices and prices to choose from. If you got your scope from a dealer, you might check with her. Otherwise look for markings on your eyepieces to see what kind you have, what their focal lengths are, what the barrel diameter is. Then go to a telescope dealer. There are really too many variables and unknowns to answer your question definitively here.
