Telescope Eyepieces 40mm?
Im looking at getting an eyepiece in the 40mm range for my Orion xt10,Im not real familiar with most eyepieces in this focal length and the people in the astronomy club Im in are kinda stuck up(sorry to say)I know you get what you pay for but am Curious about the Tele-vue 40mm
and the Orion Sirius Plossl 40mm…What would you choose or is there better in the same price range?

Would 68 deg.field of view be acceptable?
you’re looking for a widefield eyepiece at that focal length, so scratch the plossls. these are good workhorse eyepieces, but they are not widefield eyepieces.
i have some erfles, as well as a couple of hyper-expensive grenades with names like nagler on them. the view is like being on the bridge of the enterprise, but you pay for it.
look at something like the meade 5000 series, or any of the other wide field series. check the reviews, and look through a sample if at all possible.
really heavy eyepieces can unbalance a dob.
later: 68 degrees? acceptable for what? it’s your scope and your observing, and you must make that call. none of us can make it for you.
