What do you think about the new laws against photographing police men?
Yet more erosion of our civil liberties and even more scope for the police to abuse the so called “anti-terror” laws, which seem to be increasingly used to harass ordinary law abiding citizens. You can now be put in jail for up to 10 years for taking a photograph of a police officer, yet police surveillance cameras on our streets are multiplying at an exponential rate. Not to mention the use of hand held cameras by police at public events to target individuals. What has happened to the UK? We used to be up in arms about things like this happening in the former Eastern European Dictatorships, now we are rolling over and letting it happen to us.. are we doomed?
I’m gob smacked, they can film us, but we cannot film them… I didn’t know there was such a law. So what happens to Yanky and Jap tourists then when they want to take a photo outside No.10 in for instance, will they now fill the prison cells with tourists?
