Suction Camera
I want to mount a camera on my kayak… Help!?
I have an ocean paddle-ski. Its surface is kind of rough so I’m not sure if a suction cup camera mount will work. Any idea’s on how I can get a sturdy mount on it?
oh and I don’t have any holes to install a deck mount
First, if it’s not waterproof, seal it with a plastic bag and leave only the lens out. Use rubber bands to secure the bag around the lens and use some tape to make it even safer. You might want to stretch a piece of no colored bag and cover the lens, but it might result bad image.
Now for the mounting, use some kind of elastic rope around the kayak.
To make sure you won’t lose your camera if something goes wrong, make a hole in the bag, pass a small rope and tie it to the cam’s hand grip or something. Seal the hole well and tie the other end firmly somewhere on you or on that think you use around your waist.
The method is tested on windsurf and works fine!
And… don’t drill the thing! How many times will you film? It doesn’t worth it.
