How to Shoot X-Rated Videos Like a Pro
You’ve convinced your partner to agree to make your own private, erotic video and you guys are now counting the days to your scheduled video shoot. So can you expect that everything will run smoothly then? Not if you don’t know how to properly shoot video.
Nothing can be more annoying than to discuss, agonize, agree, prepare and then shoot an x-rated video only to find out that hardly anything was recorded of your lovemaking or that you can hardly see anything but shadows! So read on and find out how you can shoot your x-rated video like a pro.
What to Do When Shooting an Erotic Video
First of all, know your camcorder like it is your best friend! If you know how to operate it – yes, even in the dark – then you greatly reduce the risk of anything going wrong during your erotic video shoot. Besides, it would be quite annoying and sexually frustrating if you had to fiddle with the darn video camera instead of fiddling with your partner!
Go over the manual and do some practice shoots not only outdoors and during the daytime but also indoors and during nighttime! It’s a great way to check for proper lighting inside the room too.
You should also go online and look for some common video problems and how others troubleshoot them. Knowing first-hand what MIGHT go wrong will help prevent you panicking if something doesn’t go according to plan. Just don’t overdo it. A little troubleshooting know-how is really enough.
Secondly, be prepared with what ‘extras’ you might need. A spare battery or your battery charger/power supply should be in reach. Have duct tape nearby too… not for bondage games but for taping down your videocam’s extension cord so that you guys trip over it (and get caught on tape while doing it!).
Also, don’t forget to have a spare blank tape. You never know how long you’re lovemaking will be and you don’t want to miss out on the ‘big scene’, do you?
Thirdly, use a tripod and get that perfect height. You don’t want the video to be one long footage of your ceiling, right? Use a tripod and test different heights to see which one suits the room and bed height best.
Fourthly, lighting is everything so be sure that you test the lighting in the room where you will make love so that it’s not too bright, too dark, or too grainy on video afterwards.
Fifthly, have you thought of audio? This part depends largely on the quality of your video recorder (i.e., the mic that’s built-in the camcorder). If you’re camcorder doesn’t record audio well and your ‘love sounds’ are important for you guys to hear later on, then think of investing on an external microphone you can plug onto the video recorder.
Of course, if you guys really want to go all out and be daring, you can always hire a professional videographer to shoot your lovemaking. Here are some guidelines.
- Be sure that the person you hire is a professional (and not just a peeping tom). Ask for references, his website and any other detail that will make you more comfortable dealing with the videographer.
- Be sure there’s an iron-clad non-disclosure contract between the two of you. You don’t want your x-rated video mysteriously appearing on the Internet so be sure that you have a contract that prevents this and of course gives you the right to sue!
- Check his equipment when he arrives to be sure there are no ‘back up tapes’ ready to roll on another videocam or something.
- Before he leaves, ensure that he hands over the video and check again that he’s not leaving with any ‘extra copies’.
Deciding to shoot an erotic video is a big step for any couple but really, it’s not that hard. In fact, the hardest part will most probably be deciding on whether to do it or not.
If you decide to shoot the x-rated video yourselves – which is the easiest and safest option – it’s not that hard preparing for it even if you’ve never handled a videocam before. In fact, you can probably ask a relative to teach you how to do it without revealing exactly what you want to tape!
On the other hand, if you don’t want to be bothered and are ok with the idea of hiring an erotic videographer, then just be sure to following the safety precautions we outlined above.
