What does the person with the telescope beside a sniper do?
In movies and videos, we often see a sniper accompanied by an assitant looking through a (monocular?). What exactly does the helper do? How does he help the sniper aim, because “too low, too high”, can’t the sniper see that for himself? And how do they know what the other is aiming at? Seems like they only talk about location they hit or if they shot the target but never “where are you aiming now”. How are they better together? Why’s the assistant so important?
