The Orion telescope company originally started selling telescopes out of catalogs for beginners and experienced users back in the mid 70′s. In 1999, they teamed up with Imaginova Company so they could better reach their customers.

The reflector telescope was one of the very first telescopes created. Sir Isaac Newton was credited as the invention of it, so it was named the Newtonian initially. This telescope utilizes a sequence of mirrors to reflect light and produce an image. It’s best used for deep sky viewing.
Orion also manufactures refractor telescopes, which is popular among beginners. It reflects images from the sky with the utilization curved glass lenses. This telescope is great for viewing the moon, stars, and planets in sharp detail.
