What does Minimi as in the Minimi light machine gun stand for?
Is Minimi just the Belgium name of the gun or does it stand for something more or means something?
the name minimi is mostly known in the European country’s but the American army known it as the SAW ( squat automatic weapon )
Minimi is a contraction of the french words mini ( small ) and mitralleuse ( machine gun ) this is because FN , the firm who invented the gun and many other world wide known guns like the FAL, MAG, FNC, …, is situated in the french speaking part of Belgium
