Flexible Camera
How could I do some good self-portraits with a camera that’s not at all flexible?
At shutting apertures. Even normal cameras.
Use your cameras timer. Most, I’d say all but I’m not 100% certain that they all do in fact have one, and either use a camera stand to set it on. Pose yourself accordingly. Window shots are usually very appealing – the light filtering onto the window against your face. Always remember that it doesn’t really matter how many megapixels your camera is, or the shutter speed, any of that – but the lighting. Also mess around with your cameras white balance (the way the light affects the colors on the camera) and remember, photo filters in programs like photoshop and such are your friends.
I personally don’t edit my images for blemishes or other things, but the filters and color balances sometimes need to be tweaked. Most of all, just have fun, and make sure your personality shines through.
