Can i connect a profesional mic to the Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder? If it can be done, how to do it? ?
Do i have to use any adaptor? or do i have to find a professional mic that suit the mic input on Canon Vixia HV30 (which i don’t think widely available).. Thanks
If by “professional mic”, you mean one that uses XLR connectors rather than 1/8″ (3.5mm) connectors, you can get an XLR adapter… I have and use a BeachTek DXA-6 and a juicedLink CX231… the mic connects to one end of the XLR cable, the other end connects to the XLR adapter, the XLR adapter connects to the camcorder’s audio-in jack.
Sennheiser and Sony make great wireless pro-grade stuff and the base stations are camcorder mountable – and they use 1/8″ jacks…
