What are some good cameras/camcorders that allow a fish-eye lens to be attached?
Im just starting up photography/filming. I plan on using the camera for filming skateboarding. So a camera/camcorder that allows a fish-eye lens to be attached. Thanks.
There are a few video cameras that have lenses with either filter threads or bayonet filter attachment points on the front of their lenses.
The only add-on fisheye “lenses” I have seen for consumer grade camcorders is this one.

As you can see, the only give you a fisheye effect, not the full 180 degree view a true fisheye lens does.
At a recent trip to our skateboard park near my house, I saw these two cameras being used by videographers.

The Canon XL1 is an older broadcast quality camera and the gal had the optional wide angle Canon zoom attached to hers.

The guy using this one was a newbi and was having a lot of “technical” problems with it. It seems he was trying to use it right out of the box with no formal training or even experience.. In the end that camera will provide raw footage that will be easier to edit on a video editing workstation than the Canon, but as you can guess, knowing how to use such a camera is more important than just owning it.
