Why is it that even with a camera lens with Optical Stabilizer, my DSLR stil takes blur pics?
I hope you understand how IS works, it will NOT freeze moving subjects (eg a running person, motor car, bird in flight) it will allow you to hand hold a lens in a low light situation, usually giving you a 2-4 stop advantage over a non IS lens. Don’t think that by switching the IS on your subject (if moving) will be captured properly, you will still need to set the camera up properly. I suggest that you practice/research ISO/shutter speeds/aperture. Also check to see if you are in One Shot/AI servo/AI Focus.
You also neglected to say what kind of pictures you are trying to take, a link to an example with EXIF data would make it easier for us to see where you are going wrong!. Also are you using IS whilst mounted on a tripod?. If so you need to switch it off!. Saying what camera you have would be a big help also.
Then and only then can people tell you how to fix this problem, it’s like me phoning up a garage and saying I have ‘a car’ and there is a problem with ‘the wheels’.
