how to stabilize camera?
Hi i am recording for our church and we have a canon xl1 that is mounted on a pretty cheap tripod. the problem is that when anyone walks by it shakes the ground and the camera. so i am wondering if anyone knows of any sort of stabilization system for the tripod or something like that. if we cant find anything the wall right behind us is 2 foot thick concrete and does not shake. so we will plan on putting a rig out off of that. (2″ square tubing that is 1/4 inch thick and a flat plate for the camera fluid head.)
so if anyone has any better suggestions it would really be appreciated.
Some years ago there was an anti shake platform for portable cd players when you used them in the car. They used to skip all the time. It was basically two 4 inch square plates with several springs in between. So when the bottom shakes the top stays steady. I bet you could find , or make one pretty easily.
